“Le Pouce” Mountain

A pleasant hike/trek, offering beautiful views on the whole island. Have a view on the busy city of Port-Louis while enjoying the fresh air of the mountain.

Lion Mountain

Start at sea level, climb the mountain on the south south east face. While climbing have a look behind, seeing the altitude take and the magnificent view on the largest bay of the island, “Vieux Grand Port” bay, its mixtures of colour ,the history behind and  the multiple islands. Mixture of trek and climb upwards.Smoother way down  under a  mixture of endemic and tropical forest canopy.

Finish around 13:00 at Dutch Museum, Bambou Virieux, Vieux Grand-Port or 13:00 at Citizen Advice Bureau Office, Bois des Amourettes ( ** those ending at the Dutch Museum will enjoy a ride in a public Mauritian bus).

Piton de la Petite Rivière Noire Mountain

828 metre, the highest Summit on the island, not the most difficult. Quite an easy path, same way up as down. The real climb is the last 15 minutes before summit. View on the south south west plains and mountains and the amazing cliff separating the south west plains and the centre of the island.
